Linden Celebrates MLK Day with 3rd Annunal Community Walk

Jan 22, 2023

Last Monday, on the 37th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, community members, elected officials, law enforcement, civic leaders, NBA atheletes and many others gather in Linden to partake in the third annual Linden MLK Day walk.

With nearly 200 or so people marching, it began at the intersection of Cleveland Ave and Hudson Street and proceed to the Linden Point of Pride at the intersections of Cleveland and 11th Avenues.

When Is Martin Luther King Jr. Day?

The third Monday in January is Martin Luther King Jr. Day (often abbreviated to “MLK Day”). It has been a federal holiday since 1986. This means that it is an observed holiday for federal employees, as well as for many schools and businesses. This also means that the holiday does not always fall on Martin Luther King Jr.’s true birth date, January 15.
